Band Camp at a Glance
Dates- August 3 to August 14th
Times – Monday through Friday
- 1st Session – 8:30am – 12:00 – Fiala Field – Water available
- Pit Percussion reports to BAND ROOM at 8:00 am
- Battery Percussion reports to FIALA FIELD at 8:00 am
- 2nd Session – 1:30pm -3:30pm – High School band room
- Battery and Pit Percussion report at 1:00 pm
- 3rd Session – 6:00pm – 9:00 pm – Fiala Field – Water and popsicles available
- Battery and Pit Percussion reports at 5:30
Special Note: Friday, August 7th 3rd Session is canceled due to pool party
*We have discontinued the oranges during the 1st session. Your student is more than welcome to bring a quickly eaten snack during this session if they feel they will need one.
Place- Fiala Field- near the baseball fields
Please have your child wear comfortable sneakers, use head cover, wear sunglasses, and use sunscreen.
Permission for any absence from camp must be requested by a parent with a written note or email to Mr. Palmquist prior to the absence.
Band Camp WEEK #1 Notes
Monday (3rd) – Students receive medical forms, pizza fundraising information, & spirit wear information
Wednesday (5th) – Medical forms are due for all band members. Please have your child give them to Mrs. Haas or Mrs. Miller at any practice by Wednesday evening.
Freshman, new students to the band and students whose feet have grown: A representative will be at rehearsal after the 1st session for you to try on and order marching band shoes. The cost is $33 if paid at the time of fitting. If paid later, the cost will be $42. Checks should be made out to DoubleTime. If this presents a financial hardship, please contact Mr. Palmquist.
Parent Get Together: We encourage all parents and guardians, especially those of freshmen, to join us at the Fiala building from 7:00-10:00 pm. After practice, the staff will join us. This is a great opportunity to meet the band staff, get your questions answered, check out spirit wear, purchase Giant and Karns cards, sign up for chaperoning dates and meet other band parents. Please join us! Light refreshments will be served.
Friday (7th) – Pool party for band members from 8 to 10 pm at the Camp Hill Borough Pool. Please bring your suit and towel. The Boosters will provide pizza for the kids. To help us out, we would appreciate it if your student could provide the following:
- Freshman – 6 pack of water
- Sophomore- 6 pack of soda
- Junior – salty snack
- Senior – sweet snack
Band Camp WEEK # 2 Notes
Tuesday & Thursday (both weeks) -During the 3rd session of practice, students will participate in daily fun activities to promote band spirit. Sections will decide how to dress to reflect the theme and are encouraged to come to the evening sessions in a creative, fun, and simple costume. The best dressed section wins prizes each night!
Friday (14th) – Pizza fundraiser orders are due! Remember you must turn in payment with your pizza orders!! Please give to Mrs. Wasileski or Mrs. Gayner.
Spiritwear orders are also due! Please order online. If you prefer not to, please give your order form and payment to Mrs. Gayner.
Special Note: Band picture day has not been scheduled as of yet. Once our new uniforms have arrived, a date will be set. Due to budgetary reasons, the Boosters are unable to provide picture buttons this year. If you would like one of your student, please plan to order one.
